In December of 2014, Attorney Raquel Smith obtained a dismissal of a Maryland Protective Order in Prince George’s County, despite photographic evidence introduced at trial displaying the alleged victim’s black eye. Ms. Smith’s vigorous cross examination, in conjunction with video surveillance capturing parts of the incident, helped to expose inconsistencies in the alleged victim’s story. Ultimately, the Prince George’s County Judge could not find that Ms. Smith’s client was responsible for the alleged assault, dismissing the restraining order.
